Coming by car
The easiest way to get to Inxent is to use the shuttle from Folkestone to Calais. Total driving time from London is 3 to 4 hours. Ferries can be cheaper but are slower. Directions from the shuttle are at the bottom of this page
Coming by train
The nearest station is at Etaples, 10 km away, but connections are poor. If you take the Eurostar from St. Pancras to Calais Frethun I will come and pick you up.
Coming by coach
Eurolines have a service from London Victoria to Calais. Again, I will come and pick you up
How to get to Dick’s house in Inxent from the shuttle. Warning –tolls en route .

From the shuttle follow signs to Boulogne.This takes you onto the A16.Follow this past Boulogne until you get to the toll station (take a ticket).

Take the turn after the toll station (Isques, Samer).Pay the toll with cash or credit card.

At the roundabout follow signs to Samer and Montreuil.Keep on this route at the second roundabout.

Go through Hesdin l’Abbe and Samer, still following the D901 towards Montreuil.

About 10 minutes after Sameryou will see some wind turbines on your right. Roughly level with the last turbine is a turning to your left to Bernieulles. DO NOT take this road but be alert.

You go up a slope, round a left-hand bend, then start to go down.On your left near the bottom of the slope is an unsigned turning on the left.It has two red and white “bollards”.TAKE THIS TURNING.

You will be on a rough country road.There are two forks – take the right-hand one both times.Follow the road down into Inxent where you end up facing the church.

Turn right and go slowly.Dick’s house is about 200 metres on the left.
